IPA UK: Charity Cycle Ride - London to Paris

Come and Join Pheonix Peloton for our yearly charity cycle ride. We are cycling from London to Paris in 2023. The Chosen charity will be Roadpeace.
This is open to all including family and friends. You don't have to be an elite cyclist and is open to all abilities.
We will be riding through Cassel, which was very important in the defence of Dunkirk in 1940 and was used in stage 4 of the Tour de France and every year it is the 4 days of Dunkirk pro race.
We also go along Vimy ridge just outside Lens, we cross the somme river and across much of the front line from 1916. We cycle through Compiegne Forest which is very famous as it is where the Germans conceded WW1 and then France conceded to the Germans in 1940
Travel : 7th June 2023: Dover to Calais via a ferry crossing ( taking bicycles with you), 11th June 2023: Paris Gare du Nord to Kings Cross St Pancras via Eurostar ( no bicycles allowed on Eurostar) Sporta Bike+ will return your bicycle to Kings Cross St Pancras for collection
Each day we will transport your luggage to the next hotel. Please make sure this is not more than a single large sports holdall as space in vehicles is limited.
Hotel Accommodation: 1 night bed and breakfast in Calais, 1 night bed and breakfast in Lens, 1 night bed and breakfast in Compiegne and 1 night bed and breakfast near The Eiffel Tower.
All accommodation is based on twin rooms - single supplement is available at £100 per person.
Meals: Breakfast is included at the Hotel above for the duration of your stay. A simple lunch will be provided on the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th at a pre agreed point on the road. All dinners are at own expense.
Cycling : Day 1 London to Dover - 125.8km, 1499m elevation * The start is tbc, but will be in SE London to limit urban cycling. Day 2 Calais to Lens - 145.89km, 656m elevation. Day 3 - Lens to Compiegne - 140.18km, 1003m elevation. Day 4 Compiegne to Paris - 119.83km, 744m elevation .GPX Files will be given for each day's route with pre identified lunch stopsincluded. Route distance may alter slightly depending upon road works and route updates.
The ride is supported so we have mechanical help, snacks, water and lunch is included each day. All accommodation support and travel is all included.The price DOES NOT include evening meal.
We return on Eurostar and bikes will be taken back to Kings cross for us to collect. As we are travelling to France I thought it would be nice to see if any French officers wanted to join us.
Peloton Phoenix is an online cycling community for the Emergency services, NHS, Armed forces & their supporters. Cycling together for charities, wellness & mental health and to encorage more people to get healthy on bikes.
